This scene, verbatim, was very well done in the film. She was indeed beautiful beyond enduring, terrible and worshipful in that moment of temptation.

Actually, the Ring represented power, was a proxy – it wasn't sufficient in and of itself, but was crafted to bind the other rings of power to Sauron's terrible power (part of which had been bound into the Ring and imbued it with its terrible attraction). And it worked its ill influence only to the degree that others were attracted and warped to its promise of power.

Money (sometimes) too represents power – power over others, but only so long as other people desire the money. For some, it's not money, it's information. – Bo Leuf
